Upcoming Events- 2023
April : Game Night Friday 4/21 7:30-10:00 p.m.
April: Neda Walk Sunday 4/30 at 9:00 a.m.
Be an Angel Warrior
The Park Ridge Community Women will host its third NEDA Walk on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 9 a.m. to noon at Centennial Park in the spirit of reaching people of all ages that struggle with disordered eating. Despite their prevalence, eating disorders are still widely misunderstood and an underfunded mental illness that affect millions of individuals and families every day. Funds raised directly support the National Eating Disorders Association’s (NEDA) prevention and support programs, such as the NEDA Helpline and the eating disorder screening tool resources, as well as the Association's resources, advocacy efforts, and research initiatives. Learn more at http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org.
Many of us know somebody who's been affected by an eating disorder and the disruptions it caused. Getting information into the hands of people affected by an eating disorder can give them help and hope for recovery and a productive life. By supporting the PRCW’s NEDA Walk, you are also helping people to speak about them, to destigmatize them, to get us get closer to a world without eating disorders.
Please consider supporting the PRCW NEDA Walk today – every dollar we raise makes a difference!
1 – Make a tax-deductible donation to NEDA on the PRCW’s Angel Warriors Team Page
2 - Sign up to walk with the PRCW Angel Warriors Team and make a donation – use link provided in #1.
3 – Organize a team and sign up with NEDA to fundraise and participate in the Park Ridge NEDA Walk - https://nedawalk.org/parkridge2023
If you have questions, please contact Mary Allen, PRCW’s Angel Warriors team captain and the NEDA Walk coordinator at mlsa3725@yahoo.com.

Ink Cartridges
We are still collecting ink cartridges - please drop off your empties (and your friend's and family's, too!) at either Mary's (234 Belle Plaine) or Rita's (908 S Delphia). We are helping World Exodus Service welcome a refugee family whom is expecting a baby boy in December by donating infant supplies. Please see the attached list of needed items and sign up to purchase one. Donations can be dropped off on Mary’s porch at 234 Belle Plaine until November 18. Link to Google Sheet with supplies And while you are dropping that off…we are collecting empty ink jet cartridges again! Planet Green remanufactures ink cartridges using the original manufacturer’s cartridge. They will pay us for every 20 empties we send them and our last batch earned us $78! Collect them from family and friends too! |

All our ladies in pink did a magnificent job of soliciting donations, compiling baskets, organizing, transporting, documenting, and most importantly selling tickets the night of to achieve this result.
And thanks to the PRCW husbands who helped set up canopies, light up our space and for always being supportive.

By joining our team, you will be supporting the thousands of people who rely on NEDA’s programs and resources every day.
Five years ago, Mary's daughter Veronica died of an eating disorder, a disease of the brain that stole her adult years and interfered with so many personal and professional opportunities. She never wants her death to be in vain, which is why she has organized this opportunity for us to raise funds, awareness and hope. |

October GM: Spooky Sweets Swap 10/14 7:30pm-9:30pm
Spooky Sweets Swap & Contest
Bake a Halloween themed dessert (or decorate something store-bought) and bring enough to share. We will display and sample everyone's creations and after we are "sampled out" we will vote on the top desserts - based on presentation and taste. The entries with the most votes will win a prize! At the end of the night everybody in attendance can fill a platter of desserts to take home with them and we will donate any leftover treats. Please have the desserts served in individual portions and avoid desserts that need to be refrigerated. If you are not a baker - no problem! Just come to taste and vote and bring an appetizer if you don't want to come empty handed. We welcome all who are vaccinated to attend. Feel free to wear a mask if that makes you more comfortable. |
